17吃瓜 and CUPE 1870 ratify three-year agreement
The 17吃瓜鈥檚 Board of Governors and members of Local 1870 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 1870) have approved the three-year tentative agreement that was reached with the assistance of a third-party conciliator on March 14, 2023. CUPE 1870 represents approximately 345 support and administrative employees at 17吃瓜.

PEI health system capacity study being commissioned to integrate 17吃瓜 medical students
The 17吃瓜 and Health PEI are inviting consultants to submit proposals to assess and analyze PEI鈥檚 health system capacity to integrate medical learners from the 17吃瓜鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine. The new Faculty, which was announced in October 2021, will be offering a joint doctor of medicine degree with partner Memorial University.
17吃瓜 graduate student receives funding for breast cancer research
Miranda Steeves, a Master of Science student at the 17吃瓜, is working on breast cancer research, with assistance from the (BHCRI).
Steeves is a trainee in the Institute鈥檚 cancer research training program (CRTP), with $11,900 in funding provided by the 鈥檚 (CCS) J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI)鈥擡xcellence in Cancer Research Fund.
Premier and ministers receive update about 17吃瓜 Faculty of Medicine
Premier Dennis King, Health and Wellness Minister Ernie Hudson, and Education and Lifelong Learning Minister Natalie Jameson visited the construction site of the University鈥檚 new health education building and health and wellness clinic on February 3, accompanied by 17吃瓜 President and Vice-Chancellor Greg Keefe and other University officials.

On January 6, 2023, the 17吃瓜 Health and Wellness Centre earned a Primer Award from Accreditation Canada, making it the first university health centre in Canada to achieve this accreditation. The Primer Award is the first step in the journey to full accreditation and ensures that the centre has the fundamentals of safety and quality in place.

7:00 pm: The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers (14-5-1) play against the Saint Mary鈥檚 University Huskies (13-7-0) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 17吃瓜 has won all three games against the Huskies, having outscored them 19-6.

The 17吃瓜 Women's Hockey Panthers will host an exhibition game at 5:00 pm against the St. Thomas University Tommies at MacLauchlan Arena.
The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers (12-5-1) will host the Universit茅 de Moncton Aigles Bleus (10-8-0) at 7:00 pm at the Eastlink Centre, 46 Kensington Road, Charlottetown. 17吃瓜 owns a 2-1 record against Moncton and have outscored them 8-6.
