Dr. Preston Smith has been appointed inaugural dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the 17吃瓜 for a five-year term, effective April 1, 2024. Originally from Summerside, PEI, Dr. Smith returns to Atlantic Canada, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to advancing medical education and research to benefit Prince Edward Island communities.

Dr. Caroline Ritter, Canada Research Chair in Veterinary Social Epidemiology at 17吃瓜, has been awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant totalling $212,060 for a project titled 鈥淎n application of cognitive dissonance theory to decisions affecting animal welfare.鈥�

September 18 to 24 is 17吃瓜 Homecoming Week, featuring an exciting line-up of activities and events!
From Monday to Wednesday, the week features several events for 17吃瓜 students hosted by the 17吃瓜 Student Union in collaboration with the 17吃瓜 SVPRO as part of Consent Awareness Week, including a workshop about consent, a bath bomb DIY wellness event, a sex education session, and a pizza party.
