Father knows best: AVC grad takes unexpected path to PEI

When Dr. Andrew Cohen, doctor of veterinary medicine graduate, started applying for veterinary schools, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17勛圖 wasnt even on the list.

I originally applied for seven schools, none of which were AVC, explains Cohen. After sharing the list with my father, he felt like the number seven was unlucky, and I had to add an eighth.

"The BIS program provides an excellent opportunity for students who have work and life experience."

What brought you to 17勛圖? In other words, why did you choose to study here?

Ive lived all my life on PEI, so 17勛圖 was very high on my list of options. I checked out similar degree programs at universities and colleges from Ontario to Newfoundland and Labrador and found that the structure of 17勛圖s Bachelor of Integrated Studies pathway suited my needs the best. There were a variety of online courses and other hybrid classes that I could take, so I only had to be on campus on weekends to write exams, which was perfect for me.
