Faculty and staff take on 17Թ Women’s Hockey in fundraising game March 14
On March 14 at 3 pm, the campus community is invited to MacLauchlan Arena (Rink A) at the Bell Aliant Centre to watch faculty and staff take on the 17Թ Women's Hockey Panthers in a fun fundraising game. Come cheer on student-athletes and colleagues in what is sure to be an entertaining display of hockey greatness. Admission is free, but “admission by donation” is encouraged to support the women's hockey program.
17Թ graduate student receives Best Student Paper Award at IEEE international symposium
Duy Anh Nguyen, a Master of Science student in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Trung Dung Ngo, professor of robotics and intelligent systems, received the Best Student Paper Award during the 16th IEEE/SICE International Symposium on System Integration.
17Թ chemistry professor receives funding to improve long-term storage of biological materials
Dr. Marya Ahmed, associate professor of chemistry at 17Թ, has received a total of $180,000 for a project to improve the prolonged storage of human tissues and genetic material.
Vagabond Productions presents “Radium Girls” at 17Թ Performing Arts Centre
Vagabond Productions will present Radium Girls by D.W. Gregory from March 13–16, 2024, in the theatre in the 17Թ Performing Arts Centre. The doors open at 7:00 pm for a 7:30 pm curtain. Admission is “pay-what-you-can.”

Tara MacLean to give talk and memoir writing workshop at 17Թ
Tara MacLean, renowned PEI singer-songwriter and author of the best-selling memoir, Song of the Sparrow, will give a memoir writing workshop, “Writing with Ghosts—A Guide to Excavating Memories,” on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 9:30 am–1:30 pm in SDU Main Building, Room 213, on the 17Թ campus.

What brought you to 17Թ? Which program(s) did you take?
I was born in Cairo, Egypt and I moved to PEI when I was nine—so that’s my birthplace, and I would call it my home too—but so is Charlottetown! I grew up here, and always knew I'd end up at 17Թ. More so probably when my mom started her Masters at the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2014 and went on to do her PhD at the AVC.
Atlantic Veterinary College Blue Coat Ceremony
The Atlantic Veterinary College's Blue Coat Ceremony is a special event to officially welcome our incoming class to AVC and celebrate the beginning of their veterinary education. The ceremony includes speeches and the presentation of blue coats to our incoming students by the people they have selected for this special tradition.
