Dr. Joshua MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, recently received a 2024 PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation Award for his book, Time Flies: A History of Prince Edward Island from the Air.

17吃瓜 is saddened by the passing of Dr. Theresa Bernardo, the first graduate student at the University, on March 13, 2024. 

The 17吃瓜 community is invited to the installation ceremony on April 5, 2024, for 17吃瓜's next Chancellor, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin.

The 17吃瓜 Board of Governors welcomes two new members for a three-year term: 17吃瓜 faculty members, Bill Waterman and Dr. Gary Evans.

In an email on March 22, Shannon MacDonald, Chair of the 17吃瓜 Board of Governors, invited members of the campus community to a special Board meeting on Zoom where the 17吃瓜 Action Plan will be presented to the Board for approval.

The 17吃瓜 Environmental Studies program is hosting the Science Atlantic Environment conference from March 22 to 24 at the University鈥檚 Charlottetown campus.

Dr. Xander Wang, an associate professor with the 17吃瓜 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been awarded a total of $1.6 million to investigate ways to protect PEI from coastal erosion and to build Island communities鈥� resilience to climate change.

Senator Kim Pate will give a presentation titled 鈥淲hy We Need a Guaranteed Livable Basic Income鈥� at two public events on PEI in April.

The 17吃瓜 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation is hosting an exhibition titled 鈥淲isqoq, The Basket Tree,鈥� by Climate-Artist-in-Residence Elder Francis Jadis, until May 7.

Before a solid crowd of over 100 people that featured fans ringing cowbells and cheering on their favourite teams, 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Hockey was feeling the pressure when the players took to the ice at MacLauchlan Arena on March 14, looking to defeat a team made up of, for the most part, much older faculty and staff.
