The University community was saddened to learn of the death of Saint Dunstan’s University alumnus and former 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey coach William "Billy" MacMillan, who achieved a level of sport success that few other Islanders have.

Dr. Carmencita Yason, Diagnostic Virologist at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), received the 2023 Laboratorian of the Year Award at the Canadian Animal Health Laboratorians Network (CAHLN) annual meeting in early June.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from Morden, Manitoba native Cade Kowalski for the 2023–24 season. The team is excited to add Kowalski’s experience to the roster.

Nishel Alexander, a fourth-year honours student in physics at 17³Ô¹Ï, won second place in the poster competition in the association’s Division of Physics in Medicine and Biology at the 2023 Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress held at the University of New Brunswick in June.

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 17³Ô¹Ï, recently won the Canadian Catholic Historical Association’s (CCHA) 2023 Paul Bator Memorial Prize for the best article published over the past four years in the association’s journal, Historical Studies
