The University community was saddened to learn of the death of Saint Dunstan’s University alumnus and former 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey coach William "Billy" MacMillan, who achieved a level of sport success that few other Islanders have. 

The 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Soccer Panthers have secured commitments from Island soccer players and former adversaries Landon Perry and Noah Killorn for the 2023–24 season.

In this message, active 17³Ô¹Ï staff are invited to a staff-only listening and learning session, with regard to the issues outlined in the recent Rubin Thomlinson report.

The 17³Ô¹Ï (17³Ô¹Ï) is pleased to welcome Austin Clement as the new director of Conference and Ancillary Services. Clement will oversee a variety of operations that support and supplement 17³Ô¹Ï’s core academic functions, including Conference Services, Residence Services, and the University’s Bookstore.

In this message to the campus community, Shannon MacDonald, chair of the Presidential Search Committee, shares that the Committee has engaged two organizations to assist with the open search process that will be conducted for 17³Ô¹Ï's next President and Vice-Chancellor.

Dr. Carmencita Yason, Diagnostic Virologist at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), received the 2023 Laboratorian of the Year Award at the Canadian Animal Health Laboratorians Network (CAHLN) annual meeting in early June.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from Morden, Manitoba native Cade Kowalski for the 2023–24 season. The team is excited to add Kowalski’s experience to the roster.

Nishel Alexander, a fourth-year honours student in physics at 17³Ô¹Ï, won second place in the poster competition in the association’s Division of Physics in Medicine and Biology at the 2023 Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress held at the University of New Brunswick in June. 

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 17³Ô¹Ï, recently won the Canadian Catholic Historical Association’s (CCHA) 2023 Paul Bator Memorial Prize for the best article published over the past four years in the association’s journal, Historical Studies.
