17吃瓜 business student wins Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies
Samuel Harding, a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration student at the 17吃瓜, has won a prestigious Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies valued at $45,000.
The Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies are awarded each year to up to eight undergraduate business students attending an Atlantic Canadian university who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in business and dedication to extracurricular, community, and entrepreneurial activities.
Harding, who is currently an exchange student at the University of Malta, is specializing in accounting. He is on the Faculty of Business dean鈥檚 honours list and president of Enactus 17吃瓜, which is part of a national student-led organization that uses entrepreneurship to improve the economic, social, and environmental health of their community and the country overall. After completing his bachelor鈥檚 degree, he plans to earn a master鈥檚 in business administration degree and then his chartered professional accountant designation.
A native of Stanley Bridge, PEI, Harding has been a budding entrepreneur all of his life. He has worked as a property manager for his family鈥檚 business and is passionate about real estate.

Sobey Award Board of Trustees for selecting me as a recipient,鈥� said Harding. 鈥淚t both humbles and lifts my entrepreneurial spirit and allows me to focus on my studies versus finances in the final year of my BBA and during my master鈥檚 degree. I would also like to thank my family and friends who are great supporters of me, and a special thank you to my parents, who I鈥檓 privileged to have as role models and continue to learn from every day.鈥�
