The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) is excited to announce that nominations are open for the 2025 Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

The 17吃瓜 Hockey, Basketball, and Track and Field Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away. 

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for January 6鈥�12, 2025, are Sarah Forsythe (women鈥檚 hockey) and Kyree Thompson (men鈥檚 basketball).

Calling all future veterinarians! Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp (AVC Vet Camp).

The 17吃瓜 campus community is invited to participate in the 鈥淎ccess for All 17吃瓜鈥� event on January 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, to raise awareness of and advocate for improved accessibility on campus for students.

Two 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey student-athletes and head coach Forbes MacPherson are headed to the international stage. Panthers captain Kurtis Henry and assistant captain Kaleb Pearson have been selected to play with Team Canada鈥檚 hockey team at the 2025 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Games in Italy this month. MacPherson will serve as an assistant coach鈥攈is second time coaching in the FISU World Games. 

President Rodgers will kick off a series of President's Town Halls on January 15, 2025. The first topic is an update on the development of 17吃瓜's strategic plan for 2025鈥�2030. All 17吃瓜 community members are invited to attend.

The 17吃瓜 Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away to start the new year. 

Dr. Wendy Rodgers updated the campus community on the search for a new Vice-President, People and Culture. The Advisory Selection Committee will host finalist candidate A on January 9 and finalist candidate B on January 16 for on-campus visits.
