The 17吃瓜 is saddened by the recent passing of Dr. Peter Meincke, President Emeritus. Dr. Meincke was the second president of 17吃瓜, serving from 1978 to 1985. 

Dr. Kuljeet Grewal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE), received a University Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Supervision during the Celebration of Colleagues on May 29.

The 17吃瓜 held its 2025 Convocation ceremony on June 22 at its campus in New Cairo, Egypt.

17吃瓜 students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and friends gathered on Saturday, July 29, to participate in the 31st annual PEI Pride Parade.

The 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) will hold its annual Summer Reunion Weekend from July 24-26. The weekend will feature events for alumni from Saint Dunstan鈥檚 University (SDU), Prince of Wales College (PWC), and 17吃瓜. 

The 17吃瓜 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation is hosting a free public education program titled 鈥淐oastal Conversations: Understanding, Adapting, Acting鈥� about the challenges and solutions shaping PEI鈥檚 changing coastline.

Minhye Lee, a third-year student at the Atlantic Veterinary College is taking action to help protect birds on campus through a new initiative focused on evaluating bird-window collisions and looking for the community's assistance.

Angela Driscoll, a dedicated member of the aquatic animal resources team at the Atlantic Veterinary College received the University Award for Exemplary Service during the annual Celebration of Colleagues on May 29, 2025.

The 31st annual PEI Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, July 26鈥�17吃瓜, the 17吃瓜 Student Union (17吃瓜SU), 17吃瓜 Alumni Association, and the AVC Pride Club are Panther Proud to participate! All students, staff, faculty, and alumni (and family and friends!) are invited to join the celebration! 

Faculty and students in the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Nursing collaborated recently to present at the 2025 Atlantic Regional Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (ARCASN) Conference in Saint John, NB.
