In this message to employees, President Wendy Rodgers invites faculty and staff to a presentation on an overview of the employee engagement survey that was conducted in November 2024.

A celebration of Deirdre Kessler鈥檚 contributions to the PEI literary community will take place on March 20. Co-hosted by Dr. Richard Lemm and Dr. Laurie Brinklow, the evening will include short readings of Kessler鈥檚 work by other Island writers, students, and friends. 

17吃瓜 will host Research on Tap on Tuesday, March 11, at 6:00 pm, at the Upstreet Brewery Taproom, 41 Allen St., Charlottetown, PEI.

The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Basketball Panthers will play in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Basketball Championship this weekend at the Scotiabank Centre, 1800 Argyle Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Dr. Ling Li, a post-doctoral fellow in the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Education, was awarded a Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship for a study to evaluate the 鈥淧yramid to Retention: Supporting Educators to Enhance Social and Emotional Competencies in Infants and Young Children.鈥� 

The 17吃瓜 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for February 17鈥�23, 2025, are Helena Ikpotokin (women鈥檚 track and field) and Kamari Scott (men鈥檚 basketball).

The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) held a Sharing Our Stories and Apukna'jit Spirit Ceremony on February 5 at 17吃瓜.

Dr. Callum Beck's new book, The Belfast Riot of 1847, will be launched on March 5 in SDU Main Building, 17吃瓜, and on March 30 at the Eptek Art and Culture Centre in Summerside.

The 17吃瓜 Department of Religious Studies will present Theology on Tap on March 4, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at the Salvador Dali Cafe, The Arts Hotel, 155 Kent Street, Charlottetown.

The 17吃瓜 was saddened to learn of the recent passing of honorary degree recipient and long-time supporter and donor Dr. Lou MacEachern, and offers sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
