On Saturday, December 6, a 鈥淕irls Get WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Challenge Day鈥� is being held at 17吃瓜. The day will cover the topics of science, engineering, math, and technology for all female-identifying/two-spirited individuals in grades K-12. 

This year, Giving Tuesday is on December 2, and at 17吃瓜, the day is all about supporting our students!
 

17吃瓜 marked the official opening of its new 138,000-square-foot, $103-million Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Centre on November 28. The leading-edge facility is designed to support interprofessional education and collaboration across multiple health disciplines.

A panel of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) experts made up of three external and one internal reviewer is on the 17吃瓜 campus from November 26鈥�28, meeting with key stakeholders and conducting a review of the 17吃瓜 Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights (EDIHR) department.

We are sharing stories of important progress on the 17吃瓜 Action Plan under the 鈥淎ction Plan IMPACT鈥� banner. Learn about the excellent work of the 17吃瓜 SVPRO office to increase education and awareness around issues of sexual and gender-based violence.
 

A new John Bragg Chair in Entrepreneurship is being established to support the mandate and vision of the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship at 17吃瓜.

The 17吃瓜 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for November 17鈥�23 are Erin Cabaday (women鈥檚 hockey) and Kyree Thompson (men鈥檚 basketball).

From November 6 to 15, 48 students took part in 鈥淧itch Battles,鈥� a competition offered by the 17吃瓜 Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship (CCCE) that is open to all 17吃瓜 and Holland College students.

The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) will host a candlelight vigil on Friday, December 5, at 10:00 am, at the Academic Staircase in the FDSE building in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

Dr. Jeff Collins, assistant professor of political science, represented 17吃瓜 at the 2025 Warsaw Security Forum where he participated in the New Security Leader program.
