Essentials for Employability
October 12th and 13th, 2021

A free, in-person, two-day training for 17吃瓜 students on employability essentials, complete with labour market and effective communication workshops.
Take the opportunity this reading week to learn key information about how to navigate PEI's labour market and improve on your communication strategies and skills!
This training will feature a series of workshops from 17吃瓜's Digital Badge Program, including:
Panthers at Home: 17吃瓜 gears up for a busy weekend
The 17吃瓜 Panthers have one of the busiest weekends of the season coming up, hosting AUS action for soccer, plus exhibition games in hockey and basketball. Here鈥檚 your Panther home schedule for the weekend of October 1鈥�3.
The weekend kicks off tonight (Friday, October 1) with 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Hockey hosting Saint Mary鈥檚 University for a pre-season game on home ice. The puck drops at 7 pm in MacLauchlan Arena.
Also tonight, 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Basketball hosts Acadia in the Chi-Wan Young Sport Centre in pre-season action, starting at 8 pm.

Stephen Donaldson can see the benefit of 17吃瓜鈥檚 Co-operative Education program every day. The director of research and development at Island Abbey Food Science said several of the co-op students they have taken on have since started careers with the company.
鈥淲e have hired many students into full-time roles after graduating,鈥� said Donaldson. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great way to find good new hires. It is also good, from the students鈥� perspective, to get to know the organization and know what they are signing on to.鈥�
