Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy broadcast on CBC Ideas
The inaugural Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy, presented by Dr. Shannon Murray at 17吃瓜 on September 5, will be broadcast on CBC Radio鈥檚 national program Ideas on Monday, November 13, at 4:00 am and 8:00 pm.

17吃瓜 Self-Care Fair for students, staff, and faculty
Come out and take care of YOU at the 17吃瓜 Self-Care Fair on Wednesday, November 22, between 10:00 am鈥�2:00 pm in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Visit over 20 informative and interactive booths that will focus on self-care including acupuncture, reflexology, reiki, body composition scanning, reflexology, blood pressure/glucose testing, COVID-19 vaccine boosters, nutrition, mental health, physical activity, and more. There will be free food and prizes. We will also accept non-perishable food donations in support of the 17吃瓜 Campus Food Bank.
Research on Tap: Versatile applications of AI in chemistry and education
The 17吃瓜 is reviving its popular Research on Tap series with a presentation titled 鈥淰ersatile applications of AI in chemistry and education鈥� on November 16 at 6:00 pm at the Fox and Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre at 17吃瓜.

The 17吃瓜 was well-represented at the second international conference on small island states and subnational island jurisdictions, titled 鈥淭urning the Tide: Climate Change, Social Change, and Islandness鈥� in Oranjestad, Aruba, from October 23 to 26, 2023.

7:00 pm: The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Hockey Panthers (2-8) host the Mount Allison University Mounties (0-6-3) at MacLauchlan Arena. The Panthers won the first game in the matchup in overtime 2-1.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for October 30鈥揘ovember 5 are Aiden Rainford (women鈥檚 basketball) and Jace Colley (men鈥檚 basketball).
17吃瓜 engineering students help make wish come true for O鈥橪eary child
The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) recently collaborated with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to help grant a wish for an Island child by assembling a wheelchair-accessible swing at his home in O鈥橪eary, PEI.
Eight-year-old Alexander MacKenzie MacDonald is non-verbal, has severe cerebral palsy and is legally blind. When he was granted a wish from the Make-a-Wish Foundation earlier this year, his family chose a wheelchair-accessible swing because they know he enjoys swings whenever he has an opportunity to use them.
