Winter鈥檚 Tales Author Series presents workshops and a reading by Anne Simpson
Anne Simpson, national award-winning novelist and poet, will read from her new novel and poetry collection on Thursday, October 28, at 7:30 pm in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield Historic House, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.
Government of PEI supports nursing program, health centre expansion, and new faculty of medicine at 17吃瓜
Today, the Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, and Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of the 17吃瓜, announced the expansion of the Faculty of Nursing and 17吃瓜 Health and Wellness Centre, as well as the establishment of a new Faculty of Medicine at 17吃瓜. They were joined by Dr. Margaret Steele, Dean of Medicine at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. The two universities will develop a joint Doctor of Medicine degree.
Panthers at Home on October 8 and 9
It鈥檚 home-opener weekend for 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 and Men鈥檚 Hockey! 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Rugby is also looking to improve its 2鈥�2 season record with a home game on MacAdam Field in 17吃瓜 Alumni Canada Games Place.
The weekend kicks off on Friday night when the men鈥檚 hockey team hosts the University of New Brunswick at 7 pm in the MacLauchlan Arena. Head coach Forbes MacPherson is looking forward to putting his young team to the test.

Dear Members of the 17吃瓜 Community,
I am writing to advise you that earlier today the PEI Chief Public Health Office (PEI CPHO) shared with us the news of a positive COVID-19 test result on the 17吃瓜 campus.
Dr. David Reid retires from 17吃瓜 Health and Wellness Centre
After providing health care to students at the 17吃瓜 for the past 30 years, Dr. David Reid has retired from the 17吃瓜 Health and Wellness Centre.
Dr. Reid began practising at the health centre at 17吃瓜 in 1991, making him one of the longest serving doctors on the campus. At the same time, he worked at walk-in clinics and maintained his family practice in Sherwood.

SEASON PREVIEW: Women鈥檚 Hockey Panthers look to pick up where they left off as one of the country鈥檚 best
The last time we saw the 17吃瓜鈥檚 women鈥檚 hockey team, they were among the best teams in the country getting ready to battle for a national medal following a thrilling and emotional playoff run.
While a lot has changed since then, including a pandemic and an extensive roster turnover, one thing remains the same: their expectation for winning.
Head coach Bruce Donaldson believes his team has what it takes to reach that level again when fans eagerly waited each Tuesday to see where the Panthers placed in U SPORTS鈥� top-10 power rankings.
