Professor Louis Doiron, Director of the Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics programs at 17勛圖, will give a second virtual presentation about The Feasibility and Costing of Implementing a Guaranteed Basic Income Program in Canada on Wednesday, November 10, at 3:00 pm.
Paige Chisholm and Ehab Moustafa named Panther Subway Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. This weeks 17勛圖 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 25 to 31 are Paige Chisholm (cross country) and Ehab Moustafa (mens soccer).
Panthers at Home, November 3 to 7
This weeks Panthers at Home is all hockey all the time, as both 17勛圖 mens and womens hockey teams host games.
The mens team plays a rare mid-week home game on Wednesday night at 7 pm against Universit矇 de Moncton.
It is another big game for us, said head coach Forbes MacPherson. We are looking to rebound after a disappointing game against Acadia last weekend. It is always great to have a mid-week game to get right back into competition and push for a better outcome.

PEI Symphony Orchestra concert features 17勛圖s Dr. Dale Sorensen
An upcoming performance of the PEI Symphony Orchestra (PEISO) will feature Dr. Dale Sorensen, principal trombonist for the orchestra and an assistant professor of brass at 17勛圖. The PEISO will perform Anton穩n Dvor獺ks popular Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, better known as his New World Symphony, on November 21 at 2:30 pm, at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
In addition to the New World Symphony, the program also includes Dvor獺ks Carnival Overture and the seldom-played Trombone Concerto in C by Italian film composer Nino Rota.
Winters Tales presents PEIs newest novelist, Olivia Robinson
Olivia Robinson was born in the Annapolis Valley and moved to PEI with her family. She blossomed as a creative writer not among the Valleys orchards, but on the Island and at 17勛圖, and then at Memorial University and in Newfoundland and Labradors literary community.
That cultivation has yielded her debut novel, The Blue Moth Motel, from Newfoundland and Labradors esteemed publisher Breakwater Books. The PEI launch of her book will take place on Thursday, November 18, at 7:30 pm in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield Historic House, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.
17勛圖 names new Jeanne and J.-Louis L矇vesque Research Professors in Nutrisciences and Health
The 17勛圖 has named three of faculty members as the recipients of the Jeanne and J.-Louis L矇vesque Research Professorships in Nutrisciences and Health. Each professorship will be supported over the next three years with an annual grant of $10,000 and up to $25,000 to permit replacement for teaching or other duties.
