The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) and the Department of Psychology in the Faculties of Arts and Science at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) are recruiting veterinarians for a new research project.
17吃瓜 Creative Writing Master Class Reading to be held March 21
The annual public reading by 17吃瓜鈥檚 Creative Writing Master Class will take place on Tuesday, March 21, at 8:00 pm, in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.
The reading will showcase thirteen of the Island鈥檚 talented emerging writers: Joseph Simmonds, Bonnie Flavell, Brian Collins, Emma Willoughby, Jon Debly, Claire MacPhee, Adontae Pratt, Joanna Suchoszek, Olivia Jalbert, Sam Ching, Larissa Storey, Jason Mallard, and Jennifer Tasker.
Aiden Rainford and Zach Wilson named 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for February 21鈥�26 are Aiden Rainford (women鈥檚 basketball) and Zach Wilson (track and field).
Rainford, a psychology student from Toronto, Ontario, was named an AUS Championship Tournament all-star after two solid games in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During these games, the fourth-year forward averaged 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds.
17吃瓜鈥檚 Karem Simon to conduct PEI Symphony Orchestra on March 5
Dr. Karem Simon, professor of music at 17吃瓜, has been invited to serve as guest conductor of the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra in its Goodnight Moon program on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 2:30 pm, in the Sobey Family Theatre, Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Among the distinctions of Dr. Simon鈥檚 career has been his work conducting the 17吃瓜 Wind Symphony, which, under his direction, has produced 22 albums and has been acclaimed for its innovative programming and performance standard.
17吃瓜 Panthers take aim at podium during AUS Track and Field Championships
After last season鈥檚 strong showing at the AUS Championships, the 17吃瓜 Panthers track and field team hopes to build off that success in 2023.
The Panthers earned five medals in 2022, which was a program best. While only one of those medalists is set to compete this weekend at the championship meet in Saint John, New Brunswick, there is still plenty of optimism surrounding the team and what they can accomplish.
Third-year sprinter Zach Wilson finished with a 60-metre bronze medal in 2022 and headlines a group of runners vying for the podium.
17吃瓜 Community Bulletin: University and 17吃瓜 FA return to talks today
As a follow up to the 17吃瓜 Community Bulletin issued last week, the University and 17吃瓜 Faculty Association (17吃瓜 FA) will resume meeting for direct collective bargaining on Thursday, February 23, 2023. In addition to February 23, meetings are scheduled for February 24, 27, and 28.
17吃瓜 remains committed to achieving a fair and reasonable agreement with the 17吃瓜 FA that is in the best interests of our students and University community.
