17吃瓜鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.

Representatives of 17吃瓜鈥檚 Island Studies program recently exchanged ideas, expertise, and research with delegates attending islands-related conferences in Ireland and Indonesia.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at 17吃瓜 is proud to announce that Dr. Darcy Shaw, professor emeritus, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, is the recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Member Award awarded by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). 

The Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative (CWHC), Atlantic Region at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜), is working with the Government of Prince Edward Island鈥檚 (PEI) Fish and Wildlife Division to help monitor one of our elusive resident bat species: the Northern Myotis. 

While Pride Month is celebrated in June in many areas of Canada, Pride is recognized on PEI and at 17吃瓜 in July as part of the national summer-long 鈥淧ride season.鈥� Pride PEI鈥攁 not-for-profit organization that celebrates and promotes inclusion and diversity and educates and advocates on behalf of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community鈥攐rganizes the , which this year runs from July 12鈥�21.

The 17吃瓜 is proud to announce that Shannon Gillis-Atkins will be the first Panther rugby representative to be inducted into the 17吃瓜 Sports Hall of Fame. This prestigious honour recognizes Gillis-Atkins for her outstanding contributions to the sport during her time from 1992鈥�2015.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) will welcome future veterinarians for the next month at the 2024 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp. 

After 25 seasons with the 17吃瓜 Panthers, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach Lewis Page is set to begin a new chapter with the Halifax Tides FC. The soccer team is a founding club in the Northern Super League, which is committed to excellence in women鈥檚 professional soccer in Canada.

Three people connected to 17吃瓜 have been named to the Order of PEI, the province鈥檚 highest civilian honour. Kathryn Dau-Schmidt, Dr. Edward MacDonald and Reginald 鈥淒utch鈥� Thompson were selected for the Order of PEI from a field of 49 nominees. They will receive the insignia from Her Honour, Lieutenant-Government Antoinette Perry during a ceremony at Government House this fall. 

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) celebrated staff members during its annual Ice Cream Social and honoured a retiree for their years of service.
