The 17吃瓜 Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation is hosting a Research Breakfast on Thursday, February 29, from 7:30鈥�9:00 am, at the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, McMillan Hall (Room 110). 

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for February 12鈥�18, 2024, are Sydney Cummins (women鈥檚 basketball) and Jace Colley (men鈥檚 basketball).

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Global Women鈥檚 (and Allies) breakfast (GWB) will be held at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on February 27, 2024, from 7:30鈥�9:30 am.

The 17吃瓜 received the sad news on Friday that Dr. Greg Irvine, a dedicated member of the University community, passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer. 

17吃瓜 and Health PEI have released the findings of the health system capacity report that was commissioned to understand and catalogue the health care system鈥檚 capacity to successfully integrate medical learners from the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Medicine into the PEI health system.

Christine Higdon, writer, editor, graphic designer, rug hooker, and intersectional feminist, will talk about her artistic practice and read from her new novel, Gin, Turpentine, Pennyroyal, Rue, at The Gallery Coffee Shop on Great George Street, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:00 pm. The evening is sponsored by the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Arts and The Bookmark. Admission is free.

Creative PEI will host a public reception for 鈥淐alamity: A Torrent and a Trickle,鈥� a solo exhibition featuring drawings by Climate Artist-in-Residence Lisa Theriault, at the Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation (CCCCA), St. Peter鈥檚 Bay, on Saturday, February 17, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Reilly Sullivan, an honours biology student at the 17吃瓜, has been awarded a $5,000 McCall MacBain Regional Award. 

Four fourth-year doctor of veterinary medicine students from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) travelled to Meru County, Kenya, where they worked with smallholder farmers to enhance the health, productivity, and living conditions for dairy cattle and donkeys.
