September 23, 2022, is a date that most Islanders will never forget. Hurricane Fiona roared across Prince Edward Island, leaving massive destruction in its wake—the costliest storm ever recorded in Atlantic Canada.

The 17³Ô¹Ï hosted a group of presidents, provosts, directors, and heads of research from universities across Latin America and the Caribbean on November 22, 2023.

Members of the campus community joined Dr. Greg Keefe, 17³Ô¹Ï’s interim president and vice-chancellor, and 17³Ô¹Ï student Antwaun Rolle to raise the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at 17³Ô¹Ï in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. 

Veterinary students from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17³Ô¹Ï (17³Ô¹Ï) won five awards at the 2023 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Animal Welfare Assessment Contest.

Twenty groups of fourth-year 17³Ô¹Ï nursing students in the Nursing and Population Health 4010 course have been working with agencies across PEI this semester to create innovative projects and programs to promote health and wellness. The students will present their work to their community agency partners and guests at a population health project showcase on December 5, 2023, from 2:00–4:00 pm in McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The Honourable Diane Griffin, alumna, honorary degree recipient, and retired senator, has been unanimously elected as the 10th Chancellor of the 17³Ô¹Ï for a four-year term. 

Dr. Greg Keefe, 17³Ô¹Ï’s interim president and vice-chancellor, and 17³Ô¹Ï student Antwaun Rolle invite members of the campus community to the first annual raising of the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm (noon) at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building. 

17³Ô¹Ï Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald provided an update to the campus community after chairing a historic meeting of the Board of Governors on November 28.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey and the 17³Ô¹Ï Track and Field teams are on the road during the week of November 27–December 3.

Giving Tuesday, a global movement for giving and volunteering, is today, November 28, 2023. This year, the 17³Ô¹Ï Giving Tuesday campaign is dedicated to supporting 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation.
