Due to the anticipated hurricane and potentially unsafe weather conditions this weekend, the 17吃瓜 campuses in Charlottetown and St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will be closed beginning at 6:00 pm, Friday, September 23, until 11:59 pm on Saturday, September 24.

When Aliyah Aglukkaq was approached by her science teacher about applying for the 2022 Dr. Tim Ogilvie Atlantic Veterinary College Vet Camp, she knew it would be an opportunity of a lifetime.

A recently published book entitled Families, Mobility, and Work highlights new research and insights on the intersection of family life, employment, and mobility in Canada. An estimated 16% of Canada鈥檚 labour force engages in extended or complex mobility related to their work; yet little research attention has been paid on the impacts of this mobility on their families and home communities.

17吃瓜 issued a notice by email via its 17吃瓜 SAFE app to the campus community, urging students, faculty, and staff to prepare for Hurricane Fiona.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award.  

Students from 17吃瓜鈥檚 Kinesiology 3430 class are seeking participants to take part in a 4-week exercise training program, plus pre and post assessment sessions (6-weeks total). Students will create personalized exercise training programs for each participant, based on their fitness, skill level, and personal interests.  The program will take place in the 17吃瓜 Fitness Centre, and costs $30 + HST.

Matthew Latimer and Shama Huda met Gizmo on a June day in 2014. Friends had told them about a little Shih-Tzu who was surrendered to a local rescue, and they wanted to meet him to see if he might be a good fit for their family.

The recipient of the 2022 Entomological Society of Canada (ESC) Gold Medal is Dr. Donna Giberson, Professor Emerita at the 17吃瓜. The ESC Gold Medal recognizes outstanding achievement in Canadian entomology.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for September 12鈥�18 are Brinten Comeau (women鈥檚 rugby) and Duncan Murray (men鈥檚 soccer).

Some Hellish, the debut novel by Prince Edward Island writer Nicholas Herring, will be launched at a public event on Thursday, October 13, at 7:00 pm at The Gallery Coffee House and Bistro at 82 Great George Street in Charlottetown. Sponsored by the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Arts and Department of English, the book launch will feature short readings by Herring and a conversation with Richard Lemm, author and Atlantic Canadian literature professor at 17吃瓜.
