The 17吃瓜 has established a three-tier system to deliver support, services, and access to entertainment and activities to students who are either self-isolating on PEI or not able travel home for the holiday break.

Krystin Matters, who graduated from 17吃瓜 this spring with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Asian Studies, has accepted a position as an assistant English language teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) program. The position begins in the spring of 2021.

Research led by AVC faculty featured in Dairy Research Blog
A pan-Canadian research team, led by Drs. Javier Sanchez and Luke Heider, AVC鈥檚 Department of Health Management, is developing a surveillance program to measure antimicrobial use (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) on Canadian dairy farms, and the effectiveness of antimicrobial stewardship protocols and programs. The team has developed a platform called the Canadian Dairy Network of Antimicrobial Stewardship and Resistance (CaDNetASR) to collect data and monitor AMU and AMR. This new platform is a first for the dairy sector.

17吃瓜 research assistant Dr. Olive Bryanton gave remarks at the virtual launch of the World Health Organization (WHO)鈥檚 , on December 17. One key finding in the report is that at least 14 per cent of all people aged 60 years and over鈥攎ore than 142 million people worldwide鈥攁re currently unable to meet all their basic daily needs.

Emily-Anne MacQuarrie commits to 17吃瓜 after strong showing in 17吃瓜-CRFC rugby series
In the face of the adversity of 2020, one Charlottetown athlete took advantage of an opportunity that may not have presented itself otherwise. Emily-Anne MacQuarrie was looking forward to a year of competition and development on the Colonel Gray rugby team, but COVID-19 cut those dreams short.
鈥淣ot being able to complete my Grade 11 season was disappointing for me,鈥� said MacQuarrie. 鈥淚 was working so hard during the off-season to make sure I could have the best season and be the best me for my team.鈥�
