The 17³Ô¹Ï Philosophy Reading Group will meet on Monday, February 24, from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Lady Slipper Room, Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street, Charlottetown. All are welcome.

AVC and Canadian vet schools host first-ever Canadian Veterinary Colleges alumni reception at VMX
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 17³Ô¹Ï (17³Ô¹Ï), joined forces with the four other Canadian veterinary schools in January to host the first-ever Canadian Veterinary College alumni reception at the 2025 Veterinary Meeting and Expo (VMX) in Orlando, Florida.
17³Ô¹Ï Health and Wellness Centre first stand-alone university health centre to earn full accreditation
On January 6, 2025, the 17³Ô¹Ï Health and Wellness Centre became the first stand-alone university health centre to earn full accreditation from Accreditation Canada. Achieving full accreditation allowed the centre to be surveyed against national standards and by its peers and ensures the Centre has the fundamentals of safety and quality in place.

I am pleased to announce the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Tim Walker as the 17³Ô¹Ï’s new Vice-President, Administration and Finance (VPAF) at its meeting on February 6, 2025. He will join the University on April 14, 2025.
Devon Lawlor and Kyree Thompson named 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for February 3–9, 2025, are Devon Lawlor (women’s basketball) and Kyree Thompson (men’s basketball).

17³Ô¹Ï was pleased to host members of the Senate of Canada on February 5 and 6.
On Wednesday, February 5, Honourable Brian Francis, Honourable Jane MacAdam, and Honourable Mary Robinson toured the 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Medicine and Interprofessional Health Training Centre, accompanied by 17³Ô¹Ï representatives Chancellor Diane Griffin, President and Vice-Chancellor Wendy Rodgers, and Dean Preston Smith and Associate Dean Peter MacPherson, Memorial Faculty of Medicine, PEI Regional Campus. Joining the tour were members of Senator MacAdam’s and Senator Robinson’s staff.

The Jane DiCarlo rink, from the Crapaud Community Curling Club, won its second PEI women’s curling championship in a row at the West Prince Curling Club in Woodstock on January 25.
