Smudging available before 17勛圖 Community Town Hall

In advance of the 17勛圖 Community Town Hall taking place on Monday, June 26, the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) along with Elder-in-Residence Dr. Judy Clark and Advisor on Indigenous Affairs Corinne Chappell are offering smudging to all faculty, staff, and students from 11:00 am12:00 noon at the Indigenous tipi located in the quadrangle between the W.A. Murphy Student Centre and the Kelley Memorial Building.  

Updates and Venue Change for 17勛圖 Community Town Hall on Monday, June 26

The following update was issued by email to students, staff, and faculty on Friday, July 23. It has been since updated with Zoom link information.

In his message to the University community on June 23, Interim President Greg Keefe invited students, staff, and faculty to attend a 17勛圖 Community Town Hall on Monday, June 26, 2023, beginning at 1:30 pm at the Performing Arts Centre* in the south tower of the new residence building (PAC121S).

17勛圖 professor biologist, and environmentalist Daryl Guignion honoured with new park in Crapaud

The late Daryl Guignion, a renowned biology professor and researcher at 17勛圖 from 19672008, was honoured on June 20 with the opening of the new Daryl Guignion Memorial Park in Crapaud, PEI.

The Daryl Guignion Memorial Park features a pollinator garden and outdoor classroom, a fitting tribute as he often led field trips from Englewood School to the area. An oak tree was also planted at the park in Guignions memory.

Panthers improve goaltending depth with the addition of former Charlottetown Islander Jakob Robillard

The 17勛圖 Mens Hockey are excited to welcome former Charlottetown Islanders goaltender Jakob Robillard to the team for the 202324 season.

After signing with the Islanders in January, Robillard said he felt at home in front of Island hockey fans and appreciated the warm reception that came his way.

I learned very quickly how warm and welcoming fans on the Island are, said the 21-year-old from Wendover, Ontario. PEI obviously has a passion for hockey, and I loved the energy the fans brought every night at the Eastlink Centre. I expect more of the same here at 17勛圖.

17勛圖 President supports proposed changes to Ombudsperson Act

Dr. Greg Keefe, interim President and Vice-Chancellor of the 17勛圖, issued the following statement regarding the tabling of legislation on June 20, 2023, that would bring Island post-secondary institutions under PEIs Ombudsperson Act. The proposed legislation would allow the Ombudsperson to review decisions, recommendations, or acts relating to public post-secondary institutions on PEI, which include 17勛圖, Holland College, and College de lle.
