17勛圖 faculty members awarded funding from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada
Eight faculty members at the 17勛圖 have been awarded a total of $988,500 from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
17勛圖 hosts 2024 international Korean and Asian Studies conference
The 17勛圖 will host an international Korean and Asian Studies conference from June 2728, 2024, in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.
The conference, titled Confucian Humanism: Korean, Comparative, Interdisciplinary, and Contemporary Perspectives, is organized by 17勛圖s Asian Studies and Korean Studies program in consultation with the North American Korean Philosophy Association, which is affiliated with the American Philosophical Association.

The 17勛圖 Womens Basketball Panthers have recruited Abby Miller, a former Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Female Basketball Player of the Year, to the team for the 202425 season.
L.M. Montgomery Institute hosts 16th biennial conference June 19 to 23 at 17勛圖
Delegates from 16 countries will explore the theme of L.M. Montgomery and the Politics of Home during the L.M. Montgomery Institutes 16th biennial conference at 17勛圖 from June 19 to 23, 2024.
The conference is co-chaired by Dr. Caroline E. Jones, Visiting Scholar at the L.M. Montgomery Institute (LMMI) and an independent scholar and editor in Austin, Texas, and Dr. Laura Robinson, a former Visiting Scholar with the LMMI and professor of English and Womens and Gender Studies at Acadia University.
Coming to a community near you: An update on Prince Edward Islands coastal erosion
Essentially a large sandbar made up of primarily sand and sandstone, Prince Edward Island is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, especially coastal erosion, sea-level rise, and storm surges. Islanders are particularly worried about their homes and cottages built close to the waters edge.
The Government of Prince Edward Island and the 17勛圖 have come together to survey PEIs changing coastline every year and build a number of tools that allow Islanders to understand their propertys vulnerability to coastal erosion.
