Miranda Steeves, a Master of Science student at the 17吃瓜, is working on breast cancer research, with assistance from the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI). 

The Mawi鈥檕mi Indigenous Student Centre at 17吃瓜 invites the general public to a free screening and panel discussion of the documentary, "The Ice Walk," with director Eliza Knockwood and other honoured guests on February 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

17吃瓜 Panthers student-athletes are looking forward to a full week of events at home and away from February 6鈥�12.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for January 31鈥揊ebruary 5 are McKinley Nelson (women鈥檚 hockey) and Cameron Brown (men鈥檚 basketball).

Premier Dennis King, Health and Wellness Minister Ernie Hudson, and Education and Lifelong Learning Minister Natalie Jameson visited the construction site of the University鈥檚 new health education building and health and wellness clinic on February 3, accompanied by 17吃瓜 President and Vice-Chancellor Greg Keefe and other University officials.

Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor of 17吃瓜, and Tamara Steele, executive director of the , raised the Pan-African flag on the campus on Wednesday, February 1, to mark Black History Month. About 25 people attended the flag-raising.

After three years of waiting, Dr. John VanLeeuwen, interim dean, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 17吃瓜, is in Kenya with Farmers Helping Farmers (FHF) and has three doctors of veterinary medicine (DVM) students in tow.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) recently hosted the 2023 Students of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) Symposium on Thursday, January 19 to Saturday, January 21.  

17吃瓜 has announced that basketball great Eireann Rigby will be inducted into the 17吃瓜 Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, February 3, during a pre-game ceremony. The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Basketball Panthers will play the Saint Mary鈥檚 University Huskies at home starting at 6:00 pm.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 is pleased to congratulate Dr. Fred Kibenge, professor, Department of Pathology and Microbiology, AVC, on the recent publication of two textbooks.
