Dr. Irené Novaczek's presentation about the ecosystem restoration project at Basin Head has been rescheduled for April 25 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, 17³Ô¹Ï. 

The 17³Ô¹Ï Track and Field team is excited to welcome Cornwall, PEI native Leah Campbell for the 2023–24 season. Head coach Colin MacAdam has no doubt she will help the team continue to improve their sprint and relay performances.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Board of Governors and members of the 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association (17³Ô¹Ï FA), Bargaining Unit 1 and Bargaining Unit 2, ratified a new collective on Friday, April 14, 2023, ending the faculty strike. Classes at 17³Ô¹Ï will resume Monday, April 17.

The 17³Ô¹Ï and the 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association (17³Ô¹Ï FA), Bargaining Unit 1 and Bargaining Unit 2, reached a tentative Collective Agreement on Friday, April 14, 2023.

The following message from the Vice-President Academic and Research was sent to 17³Ô¹Ï students and copied to employees via their 17³Ô¹Ï email accounts on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre has created a new award for Indigenous students attending the University, with support from the Government of Prince Edward Island.

The University issued an update to students and employees on April 6 to advise that Minister Bloyce Thompson has appointed Michelle Flaherty as the mediator for the upcoming talks with the 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association.

The following message outlining student supports, activities, and events available during the strike was also emailed to 17³Ô¹Ï students on behalf of 17³Ô¹Ï Student Affairs on April 6, 2023. Please note that some programming is not taking place over the holiday weekend.

The University and 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association have agreed to return to the bargaining table with the assistance of a government-appointed mediator. 

17³Ô¹Ï Student Affairs sent a message on April 2 to 17³Ô¹Ï students via their @upei.ca emails, outlining the supports, activities, and events being offered by various offices from April 3–6.
