| Athletics

17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation will host the sixteenth annual Shoot for the Cure fundraiser on Thursday, January 26, when the Womens Basketball Panthers take on the University of New Brunswick Reds at 6 pm on their home court. The event was originally scheduled for January 13, but had to be postponed due to weather conditions.

Every week, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17勛圖 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for January 28 are Taylor Gillis (womens hockey) and Jonah Capriotti (mens hockey).

Dr. Marva Sweeney-Nixon, professor of biology, has been appointed associate vice-president research and dean of graduate studies at 17勛圖, effective January 1, 2023.

| Atlantic Veterinary College

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is now accepting applications for the 2023 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp.

Faculty and staff were advised by email on January 6, 2023, that the Minister of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture will be appointing a mediator to assist the University and Faculty Association in reaching a collective agreement.

It was a morning of mixed emotions at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), as the AVCs Wildlife Service prepared to bring bald eagle 450, otherwise known as Buddy, to his new home at Hope for Wildlife.

Festive greetings and good wishes filled the air as guests were welcomed to the New Years Levee held by the 17勛圖 and the 17勛圖 Alumni Association on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
