Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for October 2鈥�8 are Emily Duffy (women鈥檚 rugby) and Joe Ranger (men鈥檚 hockey).

The 17吃瓜 invites expressions of interest from or recommendations of individuals, external to the University, who might be considered for appointment as members to the 17吃瓜 Board of Governors.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award.

Dr. Caroline Ritter, Canada Research Chair in Veterinary Social Epidemiology at 17吃瓜, has been awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant totalling $212,060 for a project titled 鈥淎n application of cognitive dissonance theory to decisions affecting animal welfare.鈥�

The 17吃瓜 Healthy Campus Committee is offering new programs, activities, and savings to promote and encourage all 17吃瓜 staff and faculty to take advantage of exciting opportunities for health and wellness.

The 17吃瓜 Panther hockey, rugby and cross country teams are looking forward to a full week of events at home and away.

No one knew what to expect from the 2022鈥�23 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Hockey squad鈥攁nd no one more so than new head coach Sean Fisher, who inherited a young roster eager to prove themselves. The uncertainty surrounding the team quickly shifted to excitement, as they won four of their first five games, paving the way to one of the best seasons (17-9-2 record) in program history.
