President Wendy Rodgers, and chair of the selection committee, announced in a community message that Tim Walker was appointed 17³Ô¹Ï's new Vice-President, Administration and Finance by the Board of Governors.

| Athletics

Every week, 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for February 3–9, 2025, are Devon Lawlor (women’s basketball) and Kyree Thompson (men’s basketball).

17³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) teams, composed of a total of 48 students, competed at the 2025 Atlantic Engineering Competition (AEC), hosted at Université de Moncton in New Brunswick from January 24–26, 2025.

The Jane DiCarlo rink, from the Crapaud Community Curling Club, won its second PEI women’s curling championship in a row at the West Prince Curling Club in Woodstock on January 25 and are headed to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Health and Wellness Centre has received a grant from the provincial government’s 2024–2025 LIVE WELL PEI Wellness Grant Program to educate 17³Ô¹Ï students about reducing harms related to alcohol through awareness campaigns and education modules.

On Monday, February 10, 17³Ô¹Ï will welcome celebrated professor and author of "Hope Circuits: Rewiring Universities and other Systems for Human Flourishing", Dr. Jessica Riddell, back to campus. All members of the 17³Ô¹Ï community are invited to attend!

Aadesh Nunkoo, a Master of Science student at the 17³Ô¹Ï, was recently awarded one of two by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA).

The Pan-African flag was raised at 17³Ô¹Ï on Monday, February 3, to mark Black History Month by Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president academic and research at 17³Ô¹Ï; Jessica Ekeleme, president of the African Students Association; and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island.
