The 17³Ô¹Ï men’s soccer team is well known for fielding a strong contingent of homegrown talent, and this upcoming season will be no exception with Jacob Tweel, Will Campbell, and Lachlan MacEachern joining the squad.

| Academics

Island Studies Press is pleased to announce that two 17³Ô¹Ï authors recently won PEI Book Awards. My island’s the house I sleep in at night by Dr. Laurie Brinklow won the poetry category, and Home Is Where the Water Is by the late Dr. Hung-Min Chiang received the award for non-fiction. The awards were announced on May 29 at the Trailside Café in Charlottetown.

On Wednesday, June 22, at 11:00 am AT, the 17³Ô¹Ï will take part in an interactive online event with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who will deliver a live video address from Ukraine to students across Canada.

This month, 17³Ô¹Ï is proud to commemorate in recognition of the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada. Canada has officially celebrated National Indigenous History Month for the month of June since 2009.

17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Soccer head coach Lewis Page wants his team to score more, and he’s hoping his latest recruit, Katie Trifos, can help facilitate the offence.

The L.M. Montgomery Institute (LMMI), 17³Ô¹Ï, will hold its 15th biennial international conference from June 22 to 26, featuring a combination of in-person and virtual presentations.

On June 2, over 100 international graduates from the 17³Ô¹Ï Classes of 2021 and 2022 attended an event to inform them about employment and immigration opportunities for them on Prince Edward Island.

In a message to the campus community, President Keefe announces that masking protocols at 17³Ô¹Ï and at 17³Ô¹Ï-organized events are shifting from mandatory to strongly recommended, effective Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

| Alumni

Abby Gibson, a recent graduate of the 17³Ô¹Ï Department of Modern Languages’ Spanish program, has been selected by the Spanish Embassy in Ottawa to participate in the North American Language and Culture Assistant Program.

Members of the public are invited to attend the launch of two books, one a history of tourism on PEI and the other related to the Island’s famous author, L.M. Montgomery, on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 pm, at the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, 17³Ô¹Ï.
