The Institute of Island Studies at 17吃瓜 will host a public lecture titled 鈥淎nticosti: Metropolitan Finisterre鈥� on October 25 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

The week of October 17鈥�23 is another full one for the 17吃瓜 Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 10鈥�16 are Frances MacWilliam (women鈥檚 rugby) and TJ Shea (men鈥檚 hockey).

In this message to the campus community, President Keefe announces that while masks must still be worn in instructional spaces, masks are strongly encouraged but not mandatory elsewhere on campus.

17吃瓜鈥檚 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will host a public Open House on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Members of the public are invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the 17吃瓜 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the 17吃瓜 Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability.

In a message that was issued to faculty and staff by email, the University provided an update about meetings with the PEI-appointed conciliation officer.

Canadian author, journalist, and historian Gwynne Dyer will give a public lecture titled 鈥淧lanetary Maintenance Engineers: A Last-Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy,鈥� on November 3 at 7 pm in the Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre (Room 135) at 17吃瓜. 

Corinne Chappell, Advisor to the Vice-President, Academic and Research, on Indigenous Affairs at 17吃瓜, has won the prestigious 2022 Adult Dwight Dorey Youth Advocacy Award. This award, established by the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples鈥� National Youth Council, recognizes an Indigenous adult who demonstrates support, advocacy, and leadership towards Indigenous youth in their communities.

The 17吃瓜 Department of Music will present a faculty recital, Autumn Colours, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 7:30 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building.
