17Թ 50th Anniversary Alumni Speakers Series presents Jim Carter
The 17Թ 50th Anniversary Alumni Speakers Series and the 17Թ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering are pleased to present a presentation by Jim Carter (Dip. Eng ’71, LLD ’08), retired CEO of Syncrude Canada Ltd. The event will take place on Thursday, November 7, at noon in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building, room 205. Lunch will be provided.

As part of 17Թ’s commitment to crisis preparedness and response, the University has launched a new, free safety app called 17Թ SAFE.
17Թ SAFE is an app that the University will use to advise the community about crises, university/storm closures, and safety-related issues, as well as offer health and safety information.
The Politics and Policy of Short-term Rentals
The St Dunstan’s University Institute of Christianity and Culture at 17Թ invites the public to a lecture by Professor David Wachsmuth, Canada Research Chair in Urban Governance at McGill University.
Professor Wachsmuth is one of the world’s leading experts on the impact of short-term rentals on cities and housing markets. His lecture will be entitled “The Politics and Policy of Short-term Rentals”.
This lecture should be of interest to anyone concerned about the regulation of short-term rentals.
Sustainable Future Conference at 17Թ, October 26
The Engineers Without Borders 17Թ chapter is hosting a Sustainable Future Conference on October 26. This is the first Canadian Official United Nations Local Conference of Youth to be held at 17Թ.
