Thanks to a collaboration between 17勛圖 and the Syrian & Iraqi Student Projecta program that helps students in Syria and Iraq further their education in Canada and the USHadil Haddad had the opportunity to leave Syria to pursue her .
Kinesiology students seeking participants for exercise-training program
Students from 17勛圖s Kinesiology 3430 class are seeking participants to take part in a five-week exercise program. Students will create personalized exercise-training programs for each participant based on their fitness, skill level, and personal interests.
Participants must be between 30 and 65 years of age. The program runs Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 1:30 to 4:30, from the week of October 7 to the week of November 11. Volunteers will receive a fitness test the first and last week of the program, separated by three weeks of supervised aerobic and strength training.

Wednesday
The 17勛圖 womens hockey team is preparing for another big season, including hosting the 2020 U SPORTS Womens Hockey Championship. Coach Bruce Donaldson is watching his team come together Wednesday in an exhibition match against Mount Allison University. The puck drops tonight at 7in MacLauchlan Arena.
17勛圖 Music Recital Series presents violinist Martin Chalifour and pianist Sarah Hagen
The next performance in the 17勛圖 Music Recital Series will feature an evening of masterworks for violin and piano. Violinist Martin Chalifour and pianist Sarah Hagen will perform together Saturday, September 21, at 7:30 pm in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, 17勛圖 Steel Building.

Environmental Sciences/Human Biology Seminar Series
The Faculty of Science Graduate Studies Committee invites the campus community to the first Environmental Sciences/Human Biology seminar of the academic year.
Dr. Patrick Murphy of the 17勛圖 Biology Department will present Unraveling metabolite function with disruptive new tools in metabolomics and proteomics. The seminar will take place on Friday, September 20 at 12:30 pm in the Duffy Science Centre, room 204.

Telescope Viewing
With the return of fall, the Department of Physics is returning to nighttime telescope viewings at its observatory. The first viewing is scheduled for 8:30-10:00pm on Saturday, September 21. Drop by Memorial Hall 417 for an opportunity to look through the telescope and learn about astronomical objects.
