Indigenizing/Decolonizing the University Reading Group
The Indigenizing and Decolonizing reading group is starting up again! Co-organized by the FDO and the IEAC faculty development committee, this reading group is open to anyone on campus, for any or all of the sessions. Our first gathering this academic year will be on Wednesday, Oct 2, at 12:30 pm, in the SDU Main Building Faculty Lounge.
AVC Open House
Dont miss AVCs 31st Open House on Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this free, fun family event, featuring all kinds of demonstrations and exhibits. See a painted horse and cow; learn about different dog breeds at the Parade of Dog Breeds; check out some farm animals; dress up like a surgeon, and much more. Kids, bring your stuffed toys for a check-up and treatment at the Teddy Bear Clinic, get your faces painted, and pick out your favourite balloon animal.
Research Presentation: Community-Based Learning for International Graduate Students
Members of the campus community are invited to join Dr. Linyuan Guo-Brennan and Dr. Charlene VanLeeuwen for a research presentation community-based learning and international students. The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes followed by a 10 minute question period.
Increased global mobility has allowed more and more students to pursue graduate education overseas, and many are engaged in community-based learning (CBL) through formal or informal educational opportunities.

She will be the 17勛圖 Writer in Residence this fall semester. Her residency is sponsored by the 17勛圖 Dean of Arts, the Institute of Island Studies, and 17勛圖s English Department.

She will be the 17勛圖 Writer in Residence this fall semester. Her residency is sponsored by the 17勛圖 Dean of Arts, the Institute of Island Studies, and 17勛圖s English Department.
Dr. Whitebeach will lead a creative writing workshop on Saturday, October 5, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, at 17勛圖.

First 17勛圖 Music Recital Series concert features chamber works for piano and clarinet
The 17勛圖 Department of Music Recital Series begins its 20192020 season on Saturday, September 14, at 7:30 pm at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, featuring new piano professor, Magdalena von Eccher, in collaboration with clarinettist Karem J. Simon.
