17吃瓜 writer-in-residence, Harry Thurston to deliver poetry reading and workshops

Award-winning poet, nature and environmental author, conservation activist, and the 2023 17吃瓜 writer-in-residence Harry Thurston will read from his new poetry collection, Ultramarine, on Wednesday, September 27, at 7:30 pm at the Gallery Coffee Shop and Bistro, 82 Great George Street, Charlottetown. This free event is sponsored by the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts and The Bookmark.        

SEASON PREVIEW: Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers ready to chase 2023 playoff spot

As they enter the 2023 season, the 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers are optimistic that this year their playoff hopes and dreams will become reality.

鈥淲e鈥檙e really hungry for that playoff spot this year,鈥� said third-year centre back Roselyn Kushko. 鈥淲e worked on a few things towards the end of last season that we鈥檙e applying this year, and so far it鈥檚 been working well for us.鈥�

That鈥檚 an encouraging sign for the Panthers, who begin their journey Friday evening versus the Mount Allison University Mounties.

The 17吃瓜 Panthers women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 soccer teams are looking forward to its first homestand of the season this weekend at the 17吃瓜 Artificial Turf Field.

Friday, September 1

5:00 pm: The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers host the Mount Allison University Mounties for their season home opener.

7:15 pm: The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers host the Mount Allison University Mounties for their season home opener.
 

Sunday, September 3

1:00 pm: The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers host the Acadia University Axewomen.

Inaugural Shannon K. Murray Lecture

The inaugural Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy will take place at the 17吃瓜 Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, September 5, at 4:00 pm. Dr. Shannon Murray, an award-winning professor in the Department of English and a 3M National Teaching Fellow, will present 鈥淪hakespeare鈥檚 Guide to Teaching, Learning, and Hope.鈥�
