Four outstanding researchers awarded SSHRC Explore Research Grants (SERG)

17勛圖 has awarded SSHRC Explore Research Grants (SERC) to four outstanding members of the research community. The SERG program supports research pursuits through the funding of fully developed research proposals. Researchers are especially encouraged to provide high-quality student training opportunities and to propose collaborations with others from different but complementary disciplines.

AVC Class of 2021 celebrate achievement at White Coat ceremonies

AVCs Class of 2021 celebrated their entry into the profession of veterinary medicine on Saturday, March 13, during their White Coat Ceremony and Awards Presentation, which was held during two socially distanced events.

The members of the class received white lab coats monogrammed with their names, symbolizing their transition from students to veterinary professionals. Dr. Jamie Pearson won the prestigious R.G. Thomson Academic Achievement for the highest cumulative grade average for all courses taken during the four-year program. 

A rediscovered love of physics leads to success for 17勛圖 student

17勛圖's students are making an impact on campus, here in Canada, and around the world! Desiree Rehel is a fourth-year Physics student who recently won an award at a national undergraduate Physics student conference. After moving to PEI from Quebec in 2018, she re-discovered a love of physics at 17勛圖 and will complete her degree program in 2022.

While the ongoing global pandemic may have spared many islands the negative health impacts of COVID-19 thus far, it has undoubtedly served as a wake-up call for islands, such as Prince Edward Island, that rely heavily on tourism.

National Day of Mourning

Marked annually in Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives, or suffered injury or illness on the job or due to a work-related tragedy.

CMHA PEI Launches PEIs First Specialized Peer Support Worker Training

The Canadian Mental Health Association PEI Division (CMHA PEI), in partnership with the Quebec Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and in collaboration with the 17勛圖s Office of Continued Education and Professional Development (17勛圖 OCEPD), is introducing PEIs first ever Specialized Peer Support Worker Training to begin this fall.
