17勛圖s Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald receives teaching and educational leadership award
Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald, a professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the 17勛圖, was presented with the Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) 2024 Anne Marie MacKinnon Educational Leadership Award at the AAUs fall meeting held at 17勛圖 on September 19.
17勛圖 marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 26: Due to the rain expected Friday, September 27, the TRC Mawiomi, which was scheduled for the afternoon to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, is postponed. The event will be rescheduled on a date in October. The new date will be communicated to the campus community when it has been determined.
17勛圖 Faculty of IKERAS celebrates another historic milestone
The 17勛圖 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) recently hosted its first-ever Indigenous traditional knowledge sharing and learning day, Mawi-lukutimk, which means gathering and working together. The event took place on September 3, two years after the Faculty of IKERAS began delivering 17勛圖s mandated IKE 1040: Indigenous Teachings course and offering a Minor in Indigenous Studies. It is considered a historic milestone by everyone involved.

Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Professor and Associate Dean of the 17勛圖 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named one of 56 new Members of the prestigious Royal Society of Canadas (RSC) College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
17勛圖 leads $6.93 million precision agriculture research project to mitigate climate change
A team of researchers from across Canada, led by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, professor and interim associate dean of the 17勛圖 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received $6.93 million in federal funding to develop precision agriculture techniques to ensure food security and mitigate climate change.

17勛圖 engineering student wins prestigious national scholarship
The 17勛圖 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) congratulates Lilly O'Rielly for winning the prestigious C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship. She is one of two undergraduate engineering students in Canada to receive the renewable scholarship valued at $7,500 per year.
