AVC vet campers ready to learn about veterinary medicine!
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at 17吃瓜 is geared up to host the wildly popular Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp, introducing junior and senior high school students to the exciting world of veterinary medicine. The program, which includes four one-week camps, begins July 10.
For the first time, there are two camp coordinators leading the pack of campers鈥攖hird-year AVC student Lindsay Gallant and second-year student Julia Skinner.

17吃瓜 business students study abroad in Costa Rica through Maymester initiative
Twenty 17吃瓜 business students spent 12 days in Costa Rica in May, learning about various sustainable tourism development practices and business models, through a Maymester program developed by the University鈥檚 Faculty of Business and its Office of Study Abroad and International Partnerships.
17吃瓜 students study abroad in Italy through Maymester program
Dr. James Moran, 17吃瓜 history professor, and Dr. Christian Lacroix, 17吃瓜 biology professor, partnered with the University鈥檚 Office of Study Abroad and International Partnerships to take 19 students to Italy from May 19鈥�29, 2023, through the Maymester program. This short-term excursion was a faculty-led multidisciplinary experience that provided students with the opportunity to study the history of western medicine.

17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers add depth between the pipes in rookie netminder Joe Ranger
The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from rookie netminder Joe Ranger for the 2023鈥�24 season. This year鈥檚 roster will feature three goaltenders, including Ranger, who joins the Panthers after a strong Ontario Hockey League (OHL) career.
鈥淛oe has a ton of major junior experience. We had good conversations early, and based on his junior career, we decided to pursue him aggressively,鈥� said head coach Forbes MacPherson. 鈥淗e鈥檚 a great teammate, so we鈥檙e really excited to add him.鈥�
17吃瓜 community saddened by death of Dr. Richard Kurial
The 17吃瓜 community is saddened by the recent death of Dr. Richard Kurial, associate professor of history.
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Dr. Kurial came to the 17吃瓜 in 1993 to teach in the Department of History. He taught American History, American Foreign Policy, Canadian American Relations, and Race & Ethnicity in America. He retired from his position at 17吃瓜 on July 1 of this year.

The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers have secured a commitment from rookie defender Olivia James for the 2023鈥�24 season.
Ever since Lewis Page took over the head coaching duties for 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer, his teams have excelled on defence. And that end of the field is now stronger with the addition of Olivia James from North Bedeque, Prince Edward Island.
