What brought you to 17勛圖? Why did you choose to study here?

I am originally from Lagos, Nigeria, and now I'm a Canadian citizen living with my family in Stratford, PEI. I wanted to be at home with my family while studying at 17勛圖.

What do you find unique and interesting about the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program? 

The fact that I can help save lives, put a smile on people's faces, and make a positive difference in their lives is so amazing. This is so different from my previous career!

Mens Hockey Panthers add size and physicality in rookie forward Josh Currie

The 17勛圖 Mens Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from Josh Currie, age 21, from Pickering, Ontario, for the 202324 season.

The Panthers have always been known for their physicality and gritty style of play, and their newest recruit is expected to bring plenty of that to the team. With his six-foot-three, 175-pound frame, Currie brings size and versatility to the lineup.

2023 Pride Parade

The 17勛圖 Student Union will be participating in the  on Saturday, July 29 and invites all students, alumni, staff, and faculty to join them by meeting at 11:00 a.m. on parade day at Terry Fox Drive in the parking lot behind the provincial government buildings. Look for the Panther Patrol van! The parade begins at 12:00 p.m.

As a part of the PEI Pride Festival, the 17勛圖 Campus Life Program and 17勛圖 Student Union are excited to bring you the ultimate 17勛圖 Pride Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, July 29th, from 27 PM! Navigate Downtown Charlottetown, decode riddles, snap photos, and soak up the Pride atmosphere! This will be an afternoon filled with excitement, camaraderie, and the spirit of Pride.

17勛圖 Womens Hockey Panthers coach excited about new recruits for 202324 season

Over the last six months, the 17勛圖 Womens Hockey Panthers have secured commitments from four skaters and a goaltender for the 202324 season. Hayden Lilly, Brooke Thomson, Sarah Fraser, Brooke Henderson, and Erin Cabaday will join the team this fall.

In his inaugural season last year as head coach, Sean Fisher guided his young team to a fourth-place finish in regular play with a respectable 17-9-2 record and won a playoff series for just the second time in the programs history.

Recognizing 17勛圖's Journey toward Reconciliation

Kwe! All members of the community are invited to a special event hosted by the Native Council of PEI (NCPEI) at which the 17勛圖 will be recognized for its commitment and outstanding contributions to the ongoing work toward reconciliation.

Lisa Cooper, President and Chief of NCPEI, will present the University with an eagle feather, and Dr. Greg Keefe, interim President and Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Gary Evans, interim Dean of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies at 17勛圖, with smudging bowls.  

17勛圖 Foods and Nutrition student wins Undergraduate Research Award

Joanne Severe, a fourth-year 17勛圖 (17勛圖) Foods and Nutrition student and dietetic intern, won the Undergraduate Research Award for her thesis and presentation, Mealtime in Child Care Centres: Exploring Educators Feeding Practices, at the annual Science Atlantic Nutrition and Foods Conference, hosted virtually on April 28 and 29, 2023, by 17勛圖.

Women in Cognitive Science Canada and presentation by Dr. Debra Titone

Dr. Debra Titone, Canada Research Chair in Language and Multilingualism (Tier I) and Associate Vice-Principal Research at McGill University, and co-founder of Women in Cognitive Science Canada (NSERC/CSBBCS funded), gave a presentation entitled Women in Cognitive Science Canada: A Grass-roots Effort to Foster Disciplinary Equity and Inclusivity at 17勛圖 on Tuesday, July 18.

University extends condolences on the passing of Dr. James Jim MacAulay

Dr. Greg Keefe, 17勛圖s interim president and vice-chancellor, issued a message today to faculty and staff on the passing of Dr. James Jim MacAulay, a 17勛圖 honorary degree recipient, proponent of higher education and life-long learning, and proud Saint Dunstans University alumnus (SDU 62). Dr. MacAulay passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, after a brief illness in Souris, PEI.
