The 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) is pleased to welcome Austin Clement as the new director of Conference and Ancillary Services. Clement will oversee a variety of operations that support and supplement 17吃瓜鈥檚 core academic functions, including Conference Services, Residence Services, and the University鈥檚 Bookstore.

If you were to describe the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) Class of 2023 in one word, it could be 鈥渞esilient.鈥�
When the 65 graduating members joined the AVC Class of 2023 four years ago, their studies were impacted by a global pandemic, a natural disaster, a labour disruption, and waves of tests鈥攏ot of the academic kind.
Fast forward to today, this resilient group triumphed, making their official entry into the profession of veterinary medicine on May 16, 2023.

What brought you to 17吃瓜? Why did you choose to study here?
I was born in PEI and grew up in Summerside. Once I graduated high school I moved away for the experience, but the time spent on PEI in my adolescent years was undoubtedly impactful on the path I鈥檝e taken in my career thus far.
17吃瓜 physics student wins award at Canadian Association of Physicists Congress
Nishel Alexander, a fourth-year honours student in physics at 17吃瓜, won second place in the poster competition in the association鈥檚 Division of Physics in Medicine and Biology at the 2023 Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress held at the University of New Brunswick in June. His poster presentation was titled 鈥淐onstruction of optical tools for investigating active matter.鈥�
Dr. Edward MacDonald wins CCHA鈥檚 Paul Bator Memorial Award
Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 17吃瓜, recently won the Canadian Catholic Historical Association鈥檚 (CCHA) 2023 Paul Bator Memorial Prize for the best article published over the past four years in the association鈥檚 journal, Historical Studies. His winning article, titled 鈥淎 Song for Edward Whelan: Commemoration, Catholicism and Classical Liberalism in the Afterlife of a Tragic Hero,鈥� was published in the journal鈥檚 87th volume in 2021.
