Devon Lawlor and Kaleb Pearson named 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for November 25鈥揇ecember 1, 2024, are Devon Lawlor (women鈥檚 basketball) and Kaleb Pearson (men鈥檚 hockey).
Lawlor, a fourth-year business student from Mill Cove, PEI, made several key plays in the 73-71 win over the University of New Brunswick Reds on November 29. She finished with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting (2-of-3 from three) with three assists.
December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3 seeks to increase awareness of the experience of persons with disabilities in all areas of society, including at 17吃瓜. Individuals within the 17吃瓜 campus community are affected by various disabilities, which can be visible or invisible. They are experienced differently by each person and can intersect with other forms of identity. 17吃瓜 is committed to making a difference to all who are historically underrepresented and underserved, and aims to recognize, include, and support them.
17吃瓜 to recognize the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) will host a candlelight vigil on Friday, December 6, at 10:00 am, at the Academic Staircase in the FDSE building in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
17吃瓜 and Holland College host third joint interprofessional simulation
An interprofessional simulation involving 17吃瓜 nursing students and Holland College paramedicine students took place on November 18, 2024, at the 17吃瓜 Faculty of Nursing in the Health Sciences Building.

101 17吃瓜 student-athletes achieve U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status
The 17吃瓜 congratulates the 101 student-athletes who earned U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian (AAC) status for the 2023鈥�2024 season. This number represents 52 per cent of 17吃瓜鈥檚 194 varsity student-athletes.
