The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17勛圖 is proud to congratulate two teams of doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) students, and one graduate student who brought home awards at the recent American Veterinary Medical Associations (AVMA) Animal Welfare Assessment Contest.

Every week, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17勛圖 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for January 915 are Sarah Forsythe (womens hockey) and Kurtis Henry (mens hockey).

| Atlantic Veterinary College

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the AVC Summer Academy from July 4 to 7, 2023. This marks the first year that the Academy will be offered since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Institute of Island Studies at 17勛圖 will host a public lecture titled Towards Energy Sovereignty on Labradors Remote Island of Ponds on January 24 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

The 2023 Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) Winter World University Games is underway, and two 17勛圖 Panthers, TJ Shea and Matt Brassard, are among 22 student-athletes representing Team Canada. 17勛圖 forward Kyle Maksimovich was also selected to play but could not attend due to a recent injury.

The Atlantic Veterinary College is now accepting nominations for the Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation will host the sixteenth annual Shoot for the Cure fundraiser on Thursday, January 26, when the Womens Basketball Panthers take on the University of New Brunswick Reds at 6 pm on their home court. The event was originally scheduled for January 13, but had to be postponed due to weather conditions.
