In a message that was issued to faculty and staff by email, the University provided an update about meetings with the PEI-appointed conciliation officer.

Canadian author, journalist, and historian Gwynne Dyer will give a public lecture titled 鈥淧lanetary Maintenance Engineers: A Last-Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy,鈥� on November 3 at 7 pm in the Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre (Room 135) at 17吃瓜. 

Corinne Chappell, Advisor to the Vice-President, Academic and Research, on Indigenous Affairs at 17吃瓜, has won the prestigious 2022 Adult Dwight Dorey Youth Advocacy Award. This award, established by the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples鈥� National Youth Council, recognizes an Indigenous adult who demonstrates support, advocacy, and leadership towards Indigenous youth in their communities.

The 17吃瓜 Department of Music will present a faculty recital, Autumn Colours, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 7:30 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building.
 

The week of October 10鈥�16 is a busy one for the 17吃瓜 Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.

Dr. Trevor Jain, director of 17吃瓜鈥檚 BSc in Paramedicine program, was presented with the inaugural Doug Dennis Award for Public Service Excellence by the Community Foundation of PEI during its annual gala dinner on September 21.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 3鈥�9 are Kelly Clements (women鈥檚 hockey) and Salem Farag (men鈥檚 soccer).

The 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Hockey team is embarking on a new journey this season, and rookie head coach Sean Fisher hopes to build something special while staying true to what it means to be a Panther. 

The 2022鈥�23 season promises to be like no other for the 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey program, and if the pre-season was any indication, it could be a successful one as well.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜) is pleased to congratulate Dr. 脡tienne C么t茅, professor, Department of Companion Animals, AVC, on his election to the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS).
