The 17吃瓜 School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences (SMCS) held a 鈥淧i Day鈥� celebration on March 14, 2023. There was a good turnout of students and faculty for the celebration, which included pie eating, dressing up in math-related attire, math trivia, and the featured event鈥攖he annual SMCS Integration Tournament.

The Program hosted its Bridge to PEI Networking & Conference events on March 10 and 11. Abby Goodwin, Study & Stay PEI program coordinator and Cecia Huang, program assistant, thank the students, speakers, and those involved with putting together this successful event.

In a message to 17吃瓜 students sent by email on March 20, 17吃瓜 Student Affairs outlined supports, activities, and events for students during the faculty strike.  

In today's Community Bulletin, the University shares information to help plan for what to expect if the 17吃瓜 Faculty Association takes its members on strike.

17吃瓜 announced today that the University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 1870), representing 17吃瓜 support staff, have reached a tentative agreement.

Studying abroad can be one of the most rewarding opportunities during a university education. This school year, 17吃瓜 will have a record number of students studying abroad and hopes to see this upward trend continue. The Office of Study Abroad and International Partnerships is supporting approximately 150 students to go abroad between September 2022 and June 2023 to 18 countries around the world, such as Malta, Barbados, Belgium, Ireland, France, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Japan, Finland, and Australia.

Marine ecologist Dr. Iren茅 Novaczek will give a presentation about the ecosystem restoration project at Basin Head on March 21 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, 17吃瓜.

The 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers will welcome some of the best amateur hockey teams in the country when they host the U SPORTS 2023 Cavendish Farms University Cup Men鈥檚 Hockey Championship from March 16鈥�19, 2023, at the Eastlink Centre, 46 Kensington Road, Charlottetown.

Dr. Edward Chung, director of Asian studies and professor of religious studies at 17吃瓜, has received two grants totalling $621,850 to advance Korean and Asian studies at 17吃瓜, including the creation of a new research centre focusing on this field, which will be the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada.

The first-ever 17吃瓜 Panther Pitch competition took place two years ago as part of the Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program. This year, 17吃瓜's Experiential Education Department is re-offering the program through March, culminating in a pitch competition in May.
