Dr. Stacey MacKinnon, professor of psychology at 17吃瓜, has been named a 2025 3M National Teaching Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada.

The 17吃瓜 Department of Religious Studies and the 8th Avenue Players will present a free concert featuring songs from Godspell on May 12, at 8 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building. 

17吃瓜 will celebrate over 1,200 graduates at Convocation ceremonies to be held from May 13 to 16, 2025, at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Each ceremony will start at 10:00 am and will be preceded by a procession of graduates across campus.

The Institute of Island Studies, 17吃瓜, will present a talk titled 鈥淭he 鈥榝amily farm鈥�: A keyword in Prince Edward Island land politics鈥� by Heidi Haering on May 20, at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building 201.

17吃瓜 Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald and President Wendy Rodgers shared the Year 2 Implementation Plan for the 17吃瓜 Action Plan in a message emailed to 17吃瓜 students, staff and faculty on May 1, 2025.

Each year, the 17吃瓜 Co-operative Education Program recognizes its exceptional students and employers with the 17吃瓜 Co-op Awards. The winners of the 2024 awards were Rosie Legault, 17吃瓜 Science Co-op Student of the Year; Carol Edzeame, 17吃瓜 Arts Co-op Student of the Year; Diya Bubna, 17吃瓜 Business Co-op Student of the Year; and MRSB Group, Co-op Employer of the Year.

The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) showcased a wide range of innovative design projects in sustainable design engineering by its students at the annual Student Design Expo on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. 

Dr. Rhonda Hamilton, a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 (17吃瓜), is the winner of the College鈥檚 2024 Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

Red Dress Day is a National Day of Awareness and Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Gender Diverse Peoples (MMIWG2S) that takes place on May 5. It is a day to remember, to learn, and to take action.

17吃瓜 is saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Lawson Drake, 17吃瓜 Founder, former dean of science, retired professor and founding chair of the Department of Biology, and Prince of Wales College alumnus on April 23, 2025, in Charlottetown.
