| Atlantic Veterinary College

The Atlantic Veterinary College recently wrapped up five unforgettable weeks of summer camps, welcoming 240 enthusiastic campers from across the globe for the Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp.

Twenty-five participants in 17Թ’s 2025 Student Program for Research Engagement and Excellence (SPREE) will present their research posters on Wednesday, August 27, at 1:00 pm, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The 17Թ Foods and Nutrition program will host an Open House on Tuesday, September 9, from 4:30–5:30 pm in the third-floor dining room of the Health Sciences Building, 17Թ. All 17Թ students are welcome and encouraged to attend!

During 17Թ Welcome Week from September 1–5, 2025, students will take part in a collaborative initiative titled “Becoming Sustainable Panthers.”

Dr. Katie Koralesky, nominated by 17Թ for a prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, has been awarded one of the 2024–2025 fellowships, valued at $140,000 over two years.

| Athletics

17Թ’s Department of Athletics and Recreation raised over $19,000 on Friday, August 15, at the second annual “Women Leaders of Today Supporting Women Leaders of Tomorrow” Nine-Hole Golf Social at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford. The funds raised will directly benefit 17Թ’s eight female varsity teams.

Inge Dorsey, recently retired coordinator of both the Bachelor of Integrated Studies and the University 100 programs, received a University Award for Exemplary Service at 17Թ's annual Celebration of Colleagues on May 29, 2025.

Climate-smart technology and policy are the main themes of Climate Forum 2025, hosted by 17Թ’s Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation from August 18 to 20.

Dr. Désirée Seib, assistant professor in the 17Թ biology department, has been awarded the Jeanne and J.-Louis Lévesque Research Chair in Human Health at the University, effective April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028.
