Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for October 28 to November 3, 2024, are Lauren Rainford (women鈥檚 basketball) and Sam Chisholm (men鈥檚 basketball).

The 17吃瓜 Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation (OCII) held a successful research networking day on Thursday, October 17, in the Performing Arts Centre and Residence.

On Sunday, October 27, 17吃瓜 residence students took part in a door-to-door food drive, Trick or Eat庐, in support of the 17吃瓜 food bank. Led by Residence Life Advisor (RLA) Shelby Dyment, the 17吃瓜 residence team organized the event and collected non-perishable food items along a collection route in Charlottetown. The event, which is part of a national initiative, was deemed a success by everyone involved.

Members of the public are invited to attend the 2024 Harry Baglole Memorial Public Symposium in Island Studies, titled 鈥淗omelessness and Food Insecurity on Canada鈥檚 Food Island,鈥� on November 7, 2024, at 6:00 pm, in the Alex H. MacKinnon Auditorium, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, at 17吃瓜.

If the preseason is any indication, then 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Basketball Panthers fans have plenty to be excited about in 2024鈥�25. Posting an impressive 7-1 record in exhibition play, the Panthers took down top-tier opponents, including perennial contenders like the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men and reigning U SPORTS champions, Laval Rouge et Or. With momentum on their side and a roster packed with potential, the Panthers are ready to make a statement this season.

The 17吃瓜 Department of Music is thrilled to present the New Orford String Quartet in concert on Friday, November 1. 

The 17吃瓜 invites community members across PEI to join in a conversation and share their thoughts as the provincial university builds its next five-year strategic plan.  

The 17吃瓜 Panthers are looking forward to a big week of competition at home and away. 

The Bookmark and 17吃瓜鈥檚 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) will host a book launch for Anishinaabe author Tanya Talaga鈥檚 new book, The Knowing, on Thursday, November 7, at 7 pm, in the 17吃瓜 Performing Arts Centre amphitheatre (Room 121S). 

U SPORTS has announced the seedings and bracket for the , hosted by the 17吃瓜. The tournament gets underway on Wednesday, October 30, and concludes on Sunday, November 3.
