The 42^nd annual Terry Fox Run will take place on Sunday, September 18, across Canada. The event will once again be held in person, uniting neighbourhoods and schools as they participate in the 2022 Terry Fox Run. This year鈥檚 Charlottetown Terry Fox Run will take place at the 17吃瓜 Alumni Canada Games Place track. Reilly Sullivan, a fourth-year biology student and a member of the Panthers women鈥檚 basketball team, is organizing this year鈥檚 event.

Students, staff, and faculty were informed on Wednesday, September 14, that 17吃瓜 will observe a one-time statutory holiday on September 19 in observance of a National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for September 5鈥�11 are Emily Duffy (women鈥檚 rugby) and Salem Farag (men鈥檚 soccer).

Dr. Laurie Brinklow and Dr. Carla Di Giorgio, faculty members at the 17吃瓜, have been awarded SSHRC Exchange Publication Awards. 

Last season, no one knew what to expect from 17吃瓜鈥檚 men鈥檚 soccer team. They were a young, inexperienced group who defied expectations and battled their way to a playoff spot. A year later, this team is brimming with confidence and looking to do more than just make the playoffs.

The 17吃瓜 has lowered campus flags to half-mast to honour the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. 

Researchers with 17吃瓜鈥檚 Health and Wellness Centre and Recreation PEI are seeking participants for the free lifestyle intervention program known as Canadian Health Advanced by Nutrition and Graded Exercise (CHANGE). 

Spend a few minutes chatting about 17吃瓜 women鈥檚 soccer with head coach Lewis Page and you鈥檒l notice the word 鈥渃onfidence鈥� often comes up. That鈥檚 because there鈥檚 a renewed sense of purpose among his players who believe they can turn the team鈥檚 recent fortunes around.

Dr. Xiuquan (Xander) Wang, an associate professor in the 17吃瓜 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named a member of the (RSC) College of New Scholars. 

On Thursday, September 8, 17吃瓜 students will go door to door in the Sherwood neighbourhood from 5鈥�7 pm to collect non-perishable food for the 17吃瓜 Campus Food Bank.
