The members of 17³Ô¹Ï’s E-Learning team—Jason Hogan, Joel MacDonald, and Kristy McKinney—have been awarded COVID Warrior Coins for their work to support faculty members when 17³Ô¹Ï had to switch very quickly to online learning in the middle of the 2020 winter semester because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also received the award for their involvement in the re-boot of teaching methods, course design, and use of educational technologies required for the 2020–2021 academic year.

17³Ô¹Ï’s women’s hockey team is reinforcing their blueline for the stretch run. Twenty-one-year-old Wasyn Rice joins the Panthers, playing defence and bringing a wealth of experience that should pay dividends during the second half of the season and when they host the 2022 U Sports Women’s Hockey Championship currently scheduled from March 24–27.

The Atlantic Veterinary College is now accepting nominations for the Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Teaching and Learning Centre and the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies will host the second virtual talk in the Teaching Matters! Series on Monday, January 10 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Atlantic.

| Atlantic Veterinary College

Due to emergency service staffing shortages, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) Small Animal Emergency Service overnight coverage for veterinary clinics on Prince Edward Island will change on Thursday, January 6, 2022. These changes are being implemented to ensure that all pet owners can access safe and focused care for their pets around the clock.

Starting in January 2022, science students at 17³Ô¹Ï can register for a new 21-credit minor in biotechnology and two new associated , BIOT 1020: Field Studies in Biotechnology on PEI and BIOT 2020: Case Studies in Biotechnology.
