Dr. Adam Fenech, associate professor in the School of Climate Change and Adaptation at the 17³Ô¹Ï, is featured in a recently published book titled Inspiring Canadians: Forty Brilliant Canadians and Their Visions for the Nation.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Panthers will compete at the U SPORTS Women’s Basketball Final 8 in Kingston, March 31–April 3 as they were awarded the wildcard entry.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Women's Hockey team competed in the 2022 U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship, March 24–27, hosted by 17³Ô¹Ï at MacLauchlan Arena. The Concordia Stingers went on to win the national title beating the Nipissing Lakers in the gold medal game on Sunday, 4-0.

Every week, 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. The 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Subway Athletes from March 14–20 are Bailey MacIsaac (track and field) and Elijah Miller (men’s basketball).

17³Ô¹Ï raised $11,254.62 for the Canadian Cancer Society, surpassing its goal of $10,000, during its annual Relay for Life, which was held virtually this year because of COVID-19.

It’s been a two-year wait, but the Panthers are set to compete on home ice once again as 17³Ô¹Ï hosts the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship. In 2020, 17³Ô¹Ï hadn’t even played their first game when the championship was cancelled due to COVID-19.

17³Ô¹Ï’s basketball teams gave fans plenty to cheer for this weekend, as they put on a show at the AUS Championship in Halifax.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Department of Music is pleased to announce the award recipients of the 2022 Dr. Frances Gray Performance Competition, which took place on March 3. Alexandra Sorensen, soprano, won first place with a $1,000 scholarship; Olive MacPhail, tuba, second place with a $750 scholarship; and Devyn Collette, saxophone, third place with a scholarship of $500.

17³Ô¹Ï extends a big congratulations to Carolina Del Santo, Lauren Rainford, and head coach Matt Gamblin, of Women’s Basketball, for winning three major 2021–21 AUS awards. The AUS announced its slate of award winners for this season on March 16.
