17勛圖 representatives lay wreaths at Remembrance Day service
On Remembrance Day, November 11, people across Canada gathered on the eleventh hour to pay tribute to the veterans who serve their countrypast and present.
Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor of 17勛圖, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of the University during the Charlottetown Remembrance Day Ceremony. He was accompanied by Acting/Sub Lt Cedric Stead, an officer with HMCS Queen Charlotte and a political science student at 17勛圖. The 17勛圖 Student Union executive also laid a wreath. On the campus, the flags were lowered to half-mast.
Our veterans gave of themselves to make the world a better place, with many of them paying the ultimate sacrifice and others returning home physically and/or mentally scarred, said Dr. Keefe in a message to the campus on November 8. This week, we honour them, remembering that we owe so much to those who protected and preserved the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. Let us continue to stand and work together to ensure their efforts were not in vain. Lest we forget.
